WE'RE MOVING TO HORSELL CofE JUNIOR SCHOOL

This year you will find us at a new venue – HORSELL CofE JUNIOR SCHOOL, MEADWAY DRIVE.

We’re really excited to be moving to a bigger, better site.  We’ll have more entertainments, more stalls and much more fun on offer – but we’ll still be a community event for the whole family to enjoy.  Come along and see for yourself.  It’s all happening on Saturday 23rd July – doors open 2.00 pm

If you would like to run a stall at the show contact Marion Piper at repiper@hotmail.com for more information or call 01483 855108.

DECORATE A BRA AND HELP RAISE MONEY FOR WALK THE WALK

All entry fees for Class 61 will be donated to Walk the Walk.  Walk the Walk is a Woking based grant making charity dedicated to raising money for vital breast cancer causes.  It is also passionate about encouraging women and men to become fitter and healthier and take control of their own wellbeing.  Its flagship events are The MoonWalk and SunWalk but Walk the Walk also takes teams of women and men to challenges all over the UK and across the world to raise money and awareness.  For more information see www.walkthewalk.org

THANKS

We’ve got loads of people to thank for their support including:

Horsell Residents’ Association, Horsell Allotment Society, The Red Lion, Tune-Up, Arrow Offset Printers, Needle & Thread, Cadburys, Green & Blacks, Horsell’s WI’s and all our Judges, Visitors and Exhibitors!

We also owe a huge thank you to the students from Horsell High School who helped before and during the show.  They all did a marvellous job.

Without all our helpers there wouldn’t be a show.

Paper plane competition

Our paper plane competition which we “launched” in 2010 provided lots of entertainment for everyone.  We’re sure it will be a hit again at our new venue in 2011.  Come along with your own version (must be made out of  one sheet of A4 paper) or we’ll provide the paper and even the design for you to see just how far you can throw your paper plane on the day.

Initial post

DATE FOR YOUR DIARY – THIS YEAR’S SHOW : SATURDAY 23RD JULY 2011

We’ve got lots of ideas for 2011, so if you would like to make any suggestions please drop us a line.  We’ll have a new look schedule so check it out and see if you can spot the new classes.

Committee Members

We are always looking for new committee members.  If you are new to the area and would like to get involved, or if you’ve attended the Show for years and would like to contribute to its ongoing success, please call 01483 762621 and come and join us.

And it was good recently to hear from Andy Tomes who said:

“I remember setting up the night before and packing up after the show, followed by a pint sitting outside at the Cricketers Pub – I served on the HVS Committee between 1995-2000, and had a fantastic time. Just looked at the show committee members – lots of familiar names. Keep up the fantastic works guys! Andy Tomes, now living in Devon”
